What is a pelvic Ultrasound?
A pelvic ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic exam that produces images of the structures of the pelvis. The pelvis is located in the lower abdomen, between the hip bones.
The pelvic ultrasound may be used to evaluate the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. The exam is also used to assess blood flow in the pelvic organs and to look for any abnormalities in the pelvic region.
